FAQs

  • Where is the ferry?

    • (UPDATED 6/12/26) If you purchased a SAN FRANCISCO ferry ticket, the Golden Gate Ferry leaves from Gate C at the Ferry Building BUT you must check in with the AIISF team at Gate B between 8:30-9:30. If you purchased a TIBURON ferry ticket, the Angel Island Ferry leaves from 21 Main Street in Tiburon. It is behind Sam's Anchor Cafe and Malibu Farm.

  • What time is the ferry?

    • The SAN FRANCISCO ferry will leave from Gate C of the Ferry Building at 10:15 am. BUT you must check in with AIISF staff at Gate B between 8:30 and 9:30 am to receive your event wrist-band. Please check-in by 9:30 am as you will not be able to board the ferry without a wrist-band. The TIBURON ferry will leave at 10 am and 11 am. Please check-in 45 minutes ahead of departure.

  • How do I receive my ferry tickets?

    • On June 13th you will arrive to the ferry terminal that corresponds to your ticket (San Francisco or Tiburon). For San Francisco, check in with AIISF staff at Gate B by 9:30 am to receive your wristband. Then you will make your way to Gate C to get in line for the ferry. For Tiburon, check in 45 minutes in advance of the ferry departure. For both SF and Tiburon, after you check in with AIISF staff, you will receive a wrist-band that will be your ticket for all activities, including the ferry.

  • What should I bring?

    • We recommend bringing plenty of bottled water, snacks, sturdy walking shoes, sunscreen, a hat, and a light jacket.

  • What’s for lunch?

    • There will be 4 lunch options available when you buy your ticket. Lunches cannot be swapped or substituted after purchase.

  • I bought a ticket for Tiburon, can I switch to San Francisco?

    • No, your ticket is dependent on the ferry location. If tickets are still available you can return your original ticket and buy a new one for the other location.

  • I missed the ferry, what do I do?

    • There is no other ferry from San Francisco besides the 10:15. If you missed the 10 am from Tiburon you can take the 11 am. If you miss the ferries, we will not be able to check you in. It is possible you may be able to buy ferry tickets and board, but it is up to the ferry operator.

Family Day would not be possible without generous sponsorship from PandaCommUnity Fund and Pacific Gas and Electric Company as well as the support of our partners at Angel Island State Park; ExplorUS; Golden Gate Ferry; and Tiburon Ferry Company.
