Angel Island Storytime

Join us February 9th from 3:45-4:15 at the Oakland Main Library for a fun read aloud! We’ll be reading a picture book about Angel Island and answering any questions participants might have.

What are we reading?

We’re reading Kai’s Journey to Gold Mountain.

On Wong Kai Chong's twelfth birthday, he learns that he must leave his home in China and journey alone to Gold Mountain-America-to live with his father. Upon arrival in San Francisco, Kai is detained on Angel Island. Will Kai ever be free to join his father in Gold Mountain?
