Immigrant Heritage Wall Phase II Launches!
Due to very strong demand, AIISF, in conjunction with Angel Island State Park, will be building an extension of the existing Immigrant Heritage Wall next to the wall with 182 plaques that we dedicated on July 23, 2011. It will have room for 102 more families and friends to recognize immigrant ancestors and pioneers.
The second phase of the Immigrant Heritage Wall will add 102 granite plaques on a wall across from the immigration barracks, next to the stairway that leads to the historic hospital building, and a few feet away from the original wall. All proceeds will go toward improvements at Angel Island State Park and to the campaign to restore the hospital building into a museum that will tell the story of Pacific Coast immigration.
Donors will be able to contribute toward a 7” x 6” plaque for $2,500 or a 14” x 12” plaque for $5,000. AIISF staff will be available to help develop the text for their plaques. Here is a chart of the most recent plaque availablity.
